On February 16, 2007 we were informed that a homeless and seriously ill old lady was lying along side the road in a miserable condition and that she needed ummediate medical attention and personal care otherwise for want of these she may not survive. We immediately took her to the hospital and admitted her there. There we provided her all medical care including medicines and two lady attendants who looked afterher till she was okay. Some of us also kept attending her during her treatment and provided all financial help in her treatment, for her food and cloths and payment of the attendents was also borne by us. When she was discharged from the hospital she had no one to look after and care for her and no place to go.
Soni's Mother : On 16/02/2007 she was found in a park, coverd with mud, dirt and with festering, maggot infested wounds. After 4 months of hospitalisation, she was admitted to the Ashram. 95 years old. She is severely handicapped and cannot walk. Does not remember her name.
Mr. Anil Shukla Warsi the Chief guest cutting the red ribbon & Inaugurating the Old Age Home . He anounced on the spot contribution of Rs. 1 Lakh out of his MP fund, which is given to every MP by the Goverment of India for being spent on good projects being undertaken in the constituency for the benefit of society, masses, females, old persons. He has assured full support in getting suitable support from Central Government in New Delhi & UP Government in Lucknow. We are greatful to him for coming to Kanpur & for financial / active support.
